Manage the tenant access using Security Groups

What are Security Groups?

n2x.io Security Groups provide a way to control which tenant users in your account can access. A Security Group is essentially a list of tenants that a user is authorized to access.

You can assign one or more Security Groups to individual users, allowing for granular control.

The system automatically creates an all-tenants security group, granting access to all configured tenants. This security group is unmodifiable and cannot be deleted, but you can assign it to any user for full access.

There's no limit to the number of custom Security Groups you can create, allowing you to tailor access permissions to your specific needs.

Create a Security Group

Warning

Only the Account Administrator can manage security groups.

You only can create a security group to your account by accessing the n2x.io webUI.

In the navigation menu on the left, click Account, click on the Access Management section and select the Security Groups tab.

  1. Click on the + Add Security Group button.

  2. In this window:

    • Enter a descriptive Name to identify your security group.
    • Select the specific Tenants this security group should provide access to. You can find more tenant information here.
  3. Click on the Add New Security Group button to finalize the creation of your new security group.

Update Tenants of a Security Group

Warning

Only the Account Administrator can manage security groups.

You only can update the tenants assigned to a security group accessing the n2x.io webUI.

In the navigation menu on the left, click Account, click on the Access Management section and select the Security Groups tab.

  1. Find the security group you want to modify and click the corresponding icon.

  2. In edit mode, you can freely manage the tenants assigned to this security group.

  3. Once you've completed your modifications, click the icon to finalize the updates to your security group.

Delete a Security Group

Warning

Only the Account Administrator can manage security groups.

You only can delete a security group from your account accessing the n2x.io webUI.

In the navigation menu on the left, click Account, click on the Access Management section and select the Security Groups tab.

  1. Find the security group you want to delete and click the corresponding icon.

  2. To permanently delete the security group, a confirmation prompt will appear for verification.
